Visit our shopHi.
My partner is also my full time carer. Our pregnancy was not planned, the opposite infact, we had decided not to have children but we have just found out I’m 12 weeks pregnant. He is terrified. He is 51. He is worried about Caring for my needs and a child’s and if our child is disabled too then the implications of that; how he will cope if I’m having a bad day and he doesn’t seem to hold as much faith In my ability to be a mother as I do. We are under consultant care due to my disability and she (38) and I have fantastic support in place from many areas but it doesn’t seem to reduce his fears as it has mine. Has anyone else experienced this? Maybe you would be so kind as to share your ways of overcoming this (let’s face it, the disabled community is full of people overcoming adversity every day!!) and if there is any advise or signposting for my partner. I’d be ever so grateful. Thanks so much for taking the time to read and respond.
